A Modern New-Build Home in the Heart of the Old Bursledon Conservation Area.

A contemporary new-build home located in the Old Bursledon Conservation Area. This sustainable Courtyard House has been thoughtfully designed to blend modern living with environmental responsibility. At its center lies a tranquil courtyard featuring a rainwater harvesting pond, supporting eco-friendly water management.

The design expertly reinterprets traditional architectural elements found throughout Old Bursledon, giving the home a timeless yet contemporary appeal. A cleverly integrated basement offers additional living space without disrupting the surrounding landscape, ensuring the development remains low-impact and respectful of the countryside setting.

This energy-efficient property incorporates renewable energy systems, including air source heat pumps and green roofs, which enhance insulation and promote biodiversity. The surrounding gardens have been carefully landscaped to provide a thriving wildlife habitat, further supporting the local ecosystem and contributing to the conservation area’s natural beauty.

Client Feedback:

“We were introduced to Giles Architects through recommendation. The architectural and management service provided by Alex and his team have been totally outstanding throughout our challenging New Build project. From our first initial meeting with Alex we could clearly see his passion, knowledge and enthusiasm which proved invaluable.

Being in a conversation area, amongst Grade 2 listed buildings with special architectural interest/history, our project needed to be designed and planned not only to best suit our requirements but also those of the planners. We were blown away by their commitment and the attention to detail shown on the amazing drawings provided.”
