Alex Giles

Alex Giles

Director

Before founding Giles Architects, Alex worked for several years at a top architectural practice in central London. He is a highly skilled design and delivery architect who has managed large projects in the residential, commercial and education sectors, from inception through to completion. He is passionate about great design and strives for excellence in all aspects of practice.

Over the years Alex has gained a wealth of experience in navigating complex planning processes, he has worked with a range of stakeholders and communities to develop narrative-led designs that enhance their surroundings. Alex sits as a panelist on the national independent Design Review Panel.

He is passionate about sustainable technologies, and keen to reduce the environmental impact of design and construction. He was an early advocate of Building Information Modelling (BIM), and experienced in managing teams for the design, coordination, and delivery of small-scale residential projects to multi-million-pound mixed-use schemes.

Jacob Whatley

Jacob Whatley

Architect

Jacob is an Architect, joining Giles Architects in 2022 shortly after completing his Masters at the University of Portsmouth, with a Distinction.

Whilst studying Jacob obtained a passion for 3D modelling and visualisation, using various software packages to form complex structures and bringing them to life. His Thesis Project was a redevelopment of a significant Italian landmark, breaking it down and rebuilding it to change its function and meaning.

During his Masters Jacob gained valuable experience as a tutor within the Portsmouth School of Architecture, teaching Bachelors students everything from orthographic drawing to 3D modelling and rendering.

Jacob’s passion for 3D modelling, 3D printing and graphical representation make him the perfect fit for our progressive studio.

Caroline Sait

Caroline Sait

Architect

Caroline is an Architect who joined the practice in 2023. She completed her qualifications at the University of the West of England, Oxford Brookes University, and the University of Portsmouth, where she gained a background in Architecture and Planning. While undertaking her postgraduate studies, Caroline’s passion for both architecture and place-making led her to specialise in Urban Design. During this time, she particularly enjoyed developing community-focused projects in the UK and Singapore. Her design approach is underpinned by research, and she was recognised by her university for her exploration of place identity and socially responsive architecture. Caroline brings to the practice a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of context-driven design, alongside professional experience working on educational, healthcare, and residential projects for a range of clients. She is committed to celebrating the unique qualities and character that make buildings and places distinctive.

Dorota Adamczyk

Dorota Adamczyk

Project Architect

Dorota joined Giles Architects after gaining a wealth of construction delivery experience working within technical the department of Berkeley Group St Edward division developing Hartland Village Phases 1 to 3 in Fleet, Hampshire. Working alongside department and project leads, she has been responsible for management and coordination of all consultant and contractor information within and outside the BIM environment to ensure smooth delivery on site. She has been an advisory to other internal departments at various project stages.

Being BRE BIM ISO19650 certified, she he has been working with document controllers and digital leads across Berkeley Group Plc supporting the rollout of ISO19650 document systems on the project and guiding its adoption by on-site contractors.

Dorota qualified as an architect whilst at L+S+H Architects, working on wide range of projects from masterplanning, urban mixed use new and revitalisation commercial projects, such as Bicester Village design and delivery of Gucci flagship store, being part of the core design team for Bristol Redcliff Quarter incorporating the tallest building at the time, and working on a variety of Designer Outlet Centres and mixed-use schemes across the UK.

Louie Levison

Louie Studied in Manchester before completing his Masters at the Royal College of Art. He has experience in high-end landscape design and the social residential sector where he developed a keen interest in the politics that shapes our built environment.

His past affordable and council projects include a scheme for 70 passive house principle flats for the Cambridge Investment Partnership and a series of small 3-4 house terraces on underused garage sites for Ashford Borough Council. Other past clients include Newham Council and Hexagon Housing Association.

He is currently an associate lecturer at the London Metropolitan University where he teaches undergraduates a range of studio and design skills. Previously, Louie led a two week long workshop in Spain, at the European Architecture Students Assembly which combined his passions of film-making and architecture.

Freya Langley

Freya Langley

Architectural Apprentice

Freya joined the practice in January 2025 as an Architectural Apprentice, ahead of beginning her degree apprenticeship studies at the University of Portsmouth. Her interest in architecture stems from personal experiences with poorly designed and inaccessible buildings, giving an understanding of how this can affect standards of living for less-abled users. This led to an interest in the ever-evolving urban landscape and how carefully considered architecture can positively impact society. Freya is a hands-on learner and works closely with the team to assist with the design and delivery of a range of high-quality projects. She brings a love of painting into her professional work; this is reflected in her unique style of graphical representation and artistic skills. She looks forward to embarking on her journey to become an architect and explore sustainable development and urban design.

Office Manager

Chloe joined Metashape as our Office Manager soon after her twins began school, showcasing her dedication to both family and career. With more than ten years of experience in the NHS, she brings a broad range of skills that complement our fast-paced office setting. Her calm demeanor and adaptability in the face of new challenges make her an essential part of our team. At Metashape, Chloe manages daily office operations, coordinates professional development programs, and handles bookkeeping. She also plays a key role in maintaining an organized and productive office, fostering a positive work environment.
