Contemporary Rear Extension.

This  project involved a striking rear extension that doubled the footprint of an existing home, transforming the space into a light-filled, modern living area. The design focused on creating an open-plan layout that maximises natural daylight and frames beautiful views of the garden.

By extending into the rear garden, the property gained significantly more internal space, providing a spacious kitchen, dining, and living area tailored to modern family life. Large sliding glass doors and full-height windows were incorporated to flood the interior with natural light, while carefully placed rooflights further enhance brightness throughout the day.

The extension seamlessly connects the indoors to the outdoors, with minimal framing and expansive glazing that offer uninterrupted views of the landscaped garden. This connection brings the outside in, creating a calming and inviting atmosphere.

Externally, the extension blends contemporary design with materials that complement the existing building, delivering a harmonious yet modern addition. This project demonstrates how thoughtful architectural design can not only increase a home’s size but also significantly improve its functionality, aesthetics, and connection to nature, enhancing the quality of everyday living.
